Sancerre and its vineyards :

Sancerre is a charming little town of 2000 inhabitants, situated on a hill on the banks of the Loire river, in the east of the Cher departement (county) and of the Berry region. It’s also 200 km south of Paris.

The Sancerre vineyards are planted on the hills all around Sancerre. It spreads over 2800 hectares and covers 14 villages (Sancerre included). The grapes planted are Sauvignon Blanc, used for the white wine and represents 80% of total acreage, and the remainder is Pinot Noir used for the red and rosés wines.

Sancerre white has been recognised since 1936 as “Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée”, Sancerre red and rosés since 1959

Cave de la Bouquette. :

In September 2006, Thierry took over from his father Christian, perpetuating the long family tradition.
Though Christian is now enjoying retirement, he is still around the vineyard and is a source of precious advice

With 5.5 hectares of vineyard in AOC, we are one of the smallest producers in the Sancerre region.

We are based in the centre of Chavignol. This charming little village is one of the original sites for the Sancerre vineyards and is also renowned for its famous goat cheese, the Crottin de Chavignol.

Our vines are 30 years old on average and are all situated on the sloping hills around Chavignol.
We take special care of the vine as we consider that the quality of wine greatly depends on the quality of the grapes grown.
This work is punctuated in autumn by the harvest that we entirely do by hand.

We produce white and rosé wines. Some of our production is sold to the local trade, the rest is commercialised by us, mainly sold to private individuals.
